Martha Ann Brashears 
Martha Ann was born on June 10th, 1839 in Lawrence Co., Missouri.1 Martha Ann's father was Walter E. (Watt) Brashears and her mother was Elizabeth Elenor Basham. Her paternal grandparents were Robert Brashear and Sarah Rhea Hankins; her maternal grandparents were James Monroe Bassham and Arta M. Holloway. She had seven brothers and eight sisters, named Diocleshion W., Robert Washington, Jessie John Rankin, William Walter, James Basham, Isaac Jackson, Reuben Dobbin, Elizabeth Elendor, Artisa Miney, Sarah Jane 'Sally', Matida Lucinda, Catherine Adeline, Mary Angeline "Polly", Caroline Malissa and Malinda K.. She was the sixth oldest of the sixteen children. She died at the age of 50 in 1889.1 General Notes
