William Bolivar Basham 
William Bolivar was born on October 21st, 1904 in Indian Territory Oklahoma.1 William Bolivar's father was David Singleton Basham and his mother was Fannie Mae Ellis. His paternal grandparents were Godfrey Taylor Basham and Hannah P. Henry. He had three brothers and three sisters, named George Lee, Smiley Atwood, James IVan Chester, Lillian Virgil, Fannie Mable and Dean Alverdia. He was the second oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 76 on February 16th, 1981 in Tulsa, Tulsa Co., Oklahoma.1 General Notes

William Bolivar (Bill) Basham started his career as a baker in a ba
ke ry at Drumright, Oklahoma. He also was a messenger for the Salvati
on Ar my in Drumright about 1917-1918. His brothers-in-law, Guy and Pat
en Crocke tt, took him out of the bakery and started him in the oil fie
ld work in 19 19 at Drumright, and later other oil fields in Oklahoma. T
he brothers h ad their own contracting company. Bill was in the oil fie
ld work until 19 42 when he left and went to work for the Douglas Aircra
ft plant in Tulsa f or several years, before quitting and begin worki
