Lane Bower was born on August 5th, 1926 in Basham, Floyd Co., Virginia.1 Lane Bower's father was Amherst Sheridan Basham and his mother was Mary Jane Bower. His paternal grandparents were James Haden Basham and Laura Ellen Lawrence. He had two brothers named Amherst Sheridan, Jr. and Ralph Newman. He was the second oldest of the three children. He died at the age of 66 on September 27th, 1992 in Salem Virginia.1 General Notes
