Amherst Sheridan, Jr. was born on January 26th, 1925 in Basham, Floyd Co., Virginia.1 Amherst Sheridan, Jr.'s father was Amherst Sheridan Basham and his mother was Mary Jane Bower. His paternal grandparents were James Haden Basham and Laura Ellen Lawrence. He had two brothers named Lane Bower and Ralph Newman. He was the oldest of the three children. He died at the age of 39 on October 10th, 1964 in Virginia.1 General Notes
