Samuel Hodgkins 
Samuel was born on May 6th, 1760 in ,Carlisle,PA. Samuel's father is James Hodgkins and his mother was Elizabeth Evans. His maternal grandparents were Philip Evans and Elizabeth Harry. He had a brother and three sisters, named James, Mary, Susannah and Hannah. He was the oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 85 on October 13th, 1845. He was buried in Burget-Purdom C.,Pleasant Twp,Brown Co,OH.General Notes

He was a Rev. War Soldier from Harford Co, MD Samuel Hodgkins enlisted in
Harford Co, MD and marched to Baltimore in Capt. Bennett Bussey's MD Co. served
about 4 weeks and re-enlisted in 1775 and 1776 serving one term of three months
and the other of 9 months the latter in capt. Bussey's MD Co., Flying Camp. In
spring of 1777, he served 2 months and in the fall of 1782 for 6 weeks, was
born June 6 1757 and married Lydia Wright on Mar. 9 1831. She was born in 1789
and died Oct. 13, 1845 being buried on the farm owned by George Perkins,
Pleasant Twp. Rev. R 5092 Pension Claim A. He died in 1845 and is buried in the
Purdim-Burget Cem. Section B Grave 1 on Rte 68 two miles from Georgetown in
Plesant Twp, Brown Co OH.
