          Gertrude McBRIDE, 91, businesswoman

      Gertrude KIRBY McBRIDE, 91, of West Chester, a former Portsmouth resident, died Thursday, Nov. 4, 1993, in West Chester.
      Born Aug. 2, 1902, in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late William and Anna BUSL KIRBY, she was a retired partner in Kirby's Flowers and a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
      Surviving are a son, Fred D. McBRIDE of Cincinnati;  a brother, Richard KIRBY of Portsmouth; and five grandchildren.
      She also was preceded in death by two brothers, John W. and Charles KIRBY;  and three sisters, Grace REED, Mary BURLING and Margaret BODNER.
      Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Portsmouth, with the Rev. Jack Maynard officiating, and interment in Greenlawn Cemetery.
      Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth, where recitation of rosary will be held 8 p.m. Friday.
