Joseph W. Stiffler, a native of the northeastern part o f Indiana county and for many years a raftsman on the Susqu ehanna River, died early Sunday morning at the home of hi s daughter, Mrs. George S. Adams, of near Coopersdale, John stown, aged 74 years. Mr. Stiffler spent his boyhood in Ind iana county and then located to Lock Haven, removing to Coo persdale in 1888. In 1864 the deceased married Miss Sarah E . Hudson, of Indiana county. He is survived by two children , Mrs. Adams, mentioned above, and Harvey, of West Taylor t ownship, Cambria county; also by two brothers, John and Phi lip, and a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Piper, all of Indiana cou nty. The interment will be made Tuesday afternoon in Bensho ff's cemetery, near Johnstown
