Walter GIFFARD

Walter was born about 1516 in Of, Brightley, Devonshire, England. Walter's father was Roger GIFFORD and his mother was Margaret COBLEY. His paternal grandparents were Thomas GIFFORD and Anna CORYTON; his maternal grandparents were John COBLEY and Jane FORTESCUE. He had six brothers and seven sisters, named John, Hugh, Thomas, Andrew, Fulk, Roger, Anne, Jane Or Joan, Mary, Alice, Elizabeth, Wilmot and Philippa. He was the second oldest of the fourteen children.
