Elizabeth was born on April 2nd, 1721 in Attleboro, Bristol, MA. Elizabeth's father was Daniel READ and her mother was Elizabeth IDE. Her maternal grandfather was Timothy IDE. She had six brothers and four sisters, named Daniel, Noah, Samuel, Daniel, Benjamin, Ebenezer, Elizabeth, Abigail, Rachel and Thankful. She was the fourth oldest of the eleven children.
