Hildegard of was born in 0758 in Aachen, Rhineland, Prussia.  Hildegard of's father was Gerold Childebrand and her mother was Emma von Alamans.  Her paternal grandfather was Bishop of Mayenne Gerold; her maternal grandfather was Duke of Alamannia Nebi. She had three brothers and a sister, named Erlafred, Lord of Wormgau, I and Ermentrude of.  She was the oldest of the five children.  She died in Thionville, Austrasia.

‌Hildegard of and Holy Roman Emperor were married in a religious ceremony about 0772 in Aachen, Rhineland, Prussia.  They had three sons and five daughters, named Pepin, Lothaire, Louis I, Bertha, Adelaide, Rotrude, Gisela and Hildegarde.
