Nithard "the was born about 0780 in Ponthieu, France. Nithard "the's father was Governor of Ponthieu Angilbert and his mother was Bertha Carolingian. His paternal grandfather was Nithard Carolingian; his maternal grandparents were Holy Roman Emperor Charlemagne and Hildegard of Vinzgau. He had a brother and a sister, named I and Arsinde. He was the second oldest of the three children. He died in 0883.-
