Alice was born about 1230 in Lusignan.  Alice's father was Count Hugh X de Lusignan and her mother was Isabella de Taillefer.  Her paternal grandparents were Count Hugh IX de Lusignan and Mathilde de Angouleme; her maternal grandparents were Count Aymer Taillefer and Countess Alix de Courtenay. She had a brother and two sisters, named Hugh Lusignan Xi Count of Marche &, Maud and Alice.  She was the youngest of the four children. She had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named King Of England Henry III, Richard Plantagenet and Eleanor.  She died about 1280 in Warren, Co. Sussex, England.

‌Alice and John I were married in a religious ceremony in 1247 in Of, Woodstock, co. Kent, England.  They had two sons named William VI and William.
