Isabella was born in 1188 in ANgouleme, Charente.1 Isabella's father was Count Aymer Taillefer and her mother was Countess Alix de Courtenay. Her paternal grandparents were Count Guillaume de Taillefer and Countess Margaret Turenne; her maternal grandparents were Prince Pierre France and Isabelle Elizabeth de Courtenay. She was an only child. She died at the age of 58 on May 31st, 1246 in Fontevrault l'ab, Maine et Loire, France. She was buried in Fontevrault Abbe, Fontevrault, Maine-et-Loire, France.1 General Notes
