Earl Richard de Clare 
Richard was born in 1150 in Clare, Suffolk, England. Richard's father was Earl of Hertford Roger de Clare and his mother was Maud de St Hilary. His paternal grandparents were Earl of Hertford Richard FitzGilbert de Clare and Adeliza Alice le Meschin; his maternal grandparents were James St. Hilary Du Harcourt and Aveline de St. Hillary. He had a brother and four sisters, named Richard, Elana, Elana, Mabel and Aveline. He was the oldest of the six children. He had four half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Richard, William, William, Richard of Hertford, Eveline Aveline, Aveline, Mabel and Aveline.
