Aveline was born about 1168 in Hereford, Herefordshire, England.  Aveline's father was Earl of Hertford Roger de Clare and her mother was Maud de St Hilary.  Her paternal grandparents were Earl of Hertford Richard FitzGilbert de Clare and Adeliza Alice le Meschin; her maternal grandparents were James St. Hilary Du Harcourt and Aveline de St. Hillary. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Richard, Richard, Elana, Elana and Mabel.  She was the youngest of the six children. She had four half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Richard, William, William, Richard of Hertford, Eveline Aveline, Aveline, Mabel and Aveline.  She died before June 4th, 1225.
