James de Clare 
James was born in 1156 in Clare, Suffolk, England. James' father was Roger de Clare Earl of Gloucester and his mother was Countess Maud de St. Hilary de Harcourt. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Richard, Roger, John, Henry, Mabel and Elena. He was the third oldest of the seven children. He had a half-brother named William.
