William, known as "The Conqueror", was born in Falaise,Calvados,France.  "The Conqueror"'s father was Robert "the Magnificent" de Normandy , 3 rd Duke of Normandy and his mother was Herleva de Falaise.  His paternal grandparents were Duke  Richard II ( "the Good") de Normandy and Judith de Bretagne; his maternal grandparents were Fulbert de Falaise and Doda. He had a brother and a sister, named Drogo and Adelaide , Countess. He had three half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Odo , Earl of Kent , Bishop, Robert, Odo , Earl of Kent , Bishop, Emma, Muriel and Muriel.  He died on September 9th, 1087 in Hermenbraville,France.  He was buried in Caen,Calvados,France.


"The Conqueror"'s first family with Matilda de Flanders

‌"The Conqueror" and Matilda were married in a religious ceremony in 1053.  They had three sons and a daughter, named Henry I "Beauclerc", Robert II, Robert II and Adela.
