David I, known as The Saint, was born about 1084 in Edinburgh,Midlothian,Scotland.  The Saint's father was King Malcolm III Scotland and his mother was Saint Margaret Atheling England.  His paternal grandparents were King Duncan I MacCrinan Scotland and Aelflaed Sybilla FitzSiward of Northumbria; his maternal grandparents were Prince Edward Atheling England and Agatha Liudolfing Princess of Brunswick. He had two sisters named Mary Canmore and Matilda Atheling Edith Canmore. He had a half-brother named Duncan II King Of.  He died on May 24th, 1153 in Carlisle Castle,Cumberland,England.

‌The Saint and Maud Mathilda were married in a religious ceremony in 1113.  They had a son named Henry Canmore.
