Charles I Capet of was born in 1226.  Charles I Capet of's father was King Louis VIII de France and his mother was Queen Blanche de Castile.  His paternal grandparents were King Philip Augustus II de France and Queen Isabel de Flanders; his maternal grandparents were Alfonso Sanchez VIII of Castile King and Eleanor Plantagenet Princess of England Princess. He had four brothers named Louis IX, Robert I Capet of, John Capet of and Alphonso Capet of.  He was the youngest of the five children. He had four half-brothers named Robert I Capet of, John Capet of, Alphonso Capet of and Charles I Capet of.  He died at the age of 59 in 1285.
