Louis IX was born in 1215.  Louis IX's father was King Louis VIII de France and his mother was Queen Blanche deCastile.  His paternal grandparents were King Philip Augustus II de France and Queen Isabel de Flanders; his maternal grandparents were Alfonso VIII Sanchez King of Castile and Eleanor Plantagenet Princess of England Princess. He had eight half-brothers named Robert I Capet of, John Capet of, Alphonso Capet of, Charles I Capet of, Robert I Capet of, John Capet of, Alphonso Capet of and Charles I Capet of.  He died at the age of 55 in 1270.
