Godfroi I of Lorraine, known as A la barbe, was born about 1060 in Brabant, Louvaine, Belgium.  A la barbe's father was Duke Henri II of Lorraine and his mother was Adelaideof Orlamunde.  His paternal grandparents were Ct. Lambert II of Brabant & Louvaine (Baudry) and Oda of Lorraine; his maternal grandparents were Graf Otto of Orlamunda and Adelaide. He had a sister named Ida of Louvaine.  He was the older of the two children.  He died in Jerusalem, Israel.


A la barbe's first family with Ida of Namur

‌A la barbe and Ida of Namur were married in a religious ceremony about 1100.  They had a daughter named Adeliza of Louvaine.


A la barbe's second family with Clemence of Bourgogne

‌A la barbe and Clemence of Bourgogne were married in a religious ceremony about 1121.


A la barbe's third family

‌A la barbe were married in a religious ceremony.  He had a biological son named Joscelin of Petworth Louvaine.
