Maud was born in Breconshire,Wales.1   Maud's father was William "Black Will" de Braose Lord Brecknock and her mother was Eve MARSHALL.  Her maternal grandparents were William Marshall and Isabel Fitzgilbert De Clare. She had a brother and five sisters, named Peter, Eva, Isabela, Eleanor, Ela and Joan. She had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named Sir William II of Undy and Penhow, Eva, Eleanor and Matilda.1

‌Maud were married in a religious ceremony in 1247 in England.1
