Jean of Tonnbridge was born about 0969 in Of,Conteville,France.1   Jean of Tonnbridge's father was Baudouin III Count Flanders and his mother was Matilda Billung of Saxony.  His paternal grandparents were Arnoul I Count Of Flanders and Adele (Alice) (Alix) Vermandois; his maternal grandparents were Hermann Billung of Saxony and Hildegarde von Westerbourg. He had a brother and two sisters, named Arnoul II, Maud St Dame and Bertha Countess of. He had six half-brothers and nine half-sisters, named Gonselon I Le Grand D', Fredrick Of, Hermann Count of, Frederick, Gottfried I Duke of Lower, Gonzelon I Duke of, Irmgard, Bonne Adelaide, Gerberge Of, Regilla Ermentrude, Bonne Adelaide de, Gerberge Of, Ermentrude de, Gerberge and Regilla.  He died in St Quentin.  He was buried in St Quentin.1
