Alan De was born about 1250 in Bernard Castle,Gainford,Durham,England. Alan De's father was John De Baliol and his mother was Dervorgilla De Galloway. His paternal grandparents were Hugh De Baliol and Cecily De La Fontaine; his maternal grandparents were Alan McDonald De Galloway and Margaret of Huntington. He had four brothers and six sisters, named Hugh De, Alexander De, John, William De, Cecilia De, Eleanor De, Mary De, Ada De, UNKNOWN and Margaret De. He was the fourth youngest of the eleven children. He died before 1272.General Notes
