James John Skinner

James John was born on December 17th, 1825 in Clarksville, Robertson County, Tennessee.¹   James John's father was Josiah S. Skinner and his mother was Leah Garrett.  His paternal grandparents were Emanuel Skinner and Elizabeth Moore; his maternal grandfather was Stanford L. Garrett. He had two brothers and a sister, named Washington Lee, Josiah Washington and Mary Ann.  He was the youngest of the four children. He had two half-brothers and eight half-sisters, named William, Chaurstory, Letitia, Shany, Rebecca, Pamela, Lydia, Martha, Bathsheba and Elizabeth.  He died at the age of 33 on June 24th, 1859 in Clarksville, Robertson County, Tennessee.¹
