Dera was born in Coosa Co., AL.1 Dera's father was Geames Alfred Culver and her mother was Caroline Mildred King. Her paternal grandparents were Perry Dudley Culver and Mary Martha Green. She had three brothers and three sisters, named James Hiram, Otis, Elijah, Lois, Lola Alice and Vera Lyle. She had a half-brother named Perry Thomas. She died in ?.1 General Notes
