Henry Clay was born on July 9th, 1849 in Brownville, Haywood Co., TN.1 Henry Clay's father was Henry Dawson, Jr. Castellaw and his mother was Sarah Spruill. His paternal grandfather was Henry Dawson Castellaw. He had a brother and four sisters, named Benjamin Henry, Mary Ann, Jane E., Louisa S. and Sarah Jane. He was the youngest of the six children.
