George W. Zike 
George W. was born in 1839 in Kentucky. George W.'s father was William Allen Zike and his mother was Lydia Goforth. His paternal grandparents were Jacob "Zeuch" Zike and Katherine Lucinda Avey; his maternal grandfather was Thomas Goforth. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Jacob, James Thomas, Alexander, Francis M., Samuel Pinkerton, Casandra and Nancy J.. He was the fourth youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 38 on October 12th, 1877.General Notes
George was in the Civil War in an Iowa regiment. Lived in Iowa for a
while then moved to Louisianna.
He died when son (Howard) was 5 years old, as a result of an abcess on
his lungs caused by exposure during his service years.
George and Angeline had 3 children.
