Casandra was born in 1833 in Kentucky. Casandra's father was William Allen Zike and her mother was Lydia Goforth. Her paternal grandparents were Jacob "Zeuch" Zike and Katherine Lucinda Avey; her maternal grandfather was Thomas Goforth. She had six brothers and a sister, named Jacob, James Thomas, Alexander, George W., Francis M., Samuel Pinkerton and Nancy J.. She was the second oldest of the eight children.General Notes
