Frank P. was born on March 4th, 1846 in Monroe County, Indiana. Frank P.'s father was John Shields and his mother was Eliza Jane Blakely. His paternal grandparents were William L., Sr. Shields and Nancy Elizabeth Nash; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Blakely and Elizabeth McFall. He had two brothers and seven sisters, named Thomas Jefferson, John F., Mary E., Rebecca M., Eliza J., Anna, Susannah, Elizabeth and Catherine "Katie". He was the fifth oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 65 on December 6th, 1911 in Bloomington, Monroe Co., Indiana. He was buried on December 8th, 1911 in Rosehill Cemetery, Bloomington, Monroe, Indiana.General Notes
