William Rains 
William was born on July 12th, 1904 in Clarke County, Iowa. William's father was James C. Rains and his mother was Julia Elizabeth Zike. His paternal grandfather was Asa Rains; his maternal grandparents were William Zike and Harriet May Poor. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Leo, John, Vera and Ulzada. He was the second oldest of the five children.-
