Vera Rains 
Vera was born on August 4th, 1902 in Union Co., Iowa. Vera's father was James C. Rains and her mother was Julia Elizabeth Zike. Her paternal grandfather was Asa Rains; her maternal grandparents were William Zike and Harriet May Poor. She had three brothers and a sister, named William, Leo, John and Ulzada. She was the oldest of the five children. She died at the age of 89 in 1991.-
