Benjamin was born on June 28th, 1703 in East Greenwich,Providence Co.,RI. Benjamin's father was Thomas Nichols and his mother was Mercy Reynolds. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Nichols and Hannah Griffin; his maternal grandparents were James Reynolds and Deborah Jordan. He had two brothers and eight sisters, named James, Thomas Jr., Hannah, Mercy, Deborah, Susannah, Mary, Elizabeth, Frances and Comfort. He was the youngest of the eleven children.-
