Thomas Crampton was born on October 8th, 1759. Thomas Crampton's father was James Beall and his mother was Elizabeth Edmonston. His paternal grandparents were James Beall and Mary Ann Edmonston; his maternal grandparents were Archibald Edmonston and Dorothy Brooke. He had seven brothers and four sisters, named Alexander Edmonston, James Brooke, Archibald Allen, Robert Asa, Basil Musgrove, Zebedee, James, Dorothy Brooke, Celia, Elizabeth Brooke and Mary. He was the fifth oldest of the twelve children.-
