William L. Winfrey

William L. was born on August 25th, 1857 in , Hawkins, Tennessee.  William L.'s father was Holmes Warren Winfrey and his mother was Lucinda Elkins.  His maternal grandfather was Shaner Elkins. He had four brothers and three sisters, named James Hardin, John Johnson, Hal Gillespie, Henry, Beersheba, Sarah Kate and Sidney.  He was the fourth youngest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 56 on February 26th, 1914.
