William Shoemaker

William was born in 1824 in Sullivan County, Tennessee.  William's father was Daniel Jacob Shoemaker and his mother was Jane Harris.  His paternal grandfather was John Shoemaker. He had two brothers and a sister, named Thomas, John and Margaret.  He was the youngest of the four children. He had a half-brother and five half-sisters, named James, Elizabeth, Winifred, Nancy, Jane and Mary.
