John Shoemaker

John was born on May 16th, 1820 in Tennessee.  John's father was Daniel Jacob Shoemaker and his mother was Jane Harris.  His paternal grandfather was John Shoemaker. He had two brothers and a sister, named Thomas, William and Margaret.  He was the second youngest of the four children. He had a half-brother and five half-sisters, named James, Elizabeth, Winifred, Nancy, Jane and Mary.
