Alice was born in 1857 in , Hawkins, Tennessee. Alice's father was Christopher Pearson and her mother was Eliza Jane. Her paternal grandparents were Henry Pearson and Mary Or Polly Cole. She had three brothers and five sisters, named Arthur M., Nathaniel G., Christopher J. B., Katherine, Mary C., Mary S., Cornelia and Eliza S.. She was the second oldest of the nine children.-
