Martha Adeline was born in 1862 in , Hawkins, Tennessee. Martha Adeline's father was Madison J. Monroe and her mother was Rebecca Davis. Her paternal grandparents were Asa Monroe and Sarah. She had three brothers and seven sisters, named James J., Robert H., William Harvey, Eliza Ellen, Sarah Caroline, Mary Emaline, Pheriby Jane, Lydia, Mariah Tennessee and Rebecca Elizabeth. She was the fourth youngest of the eleven children. She died at the age of 23 in 1885 in Of, Hawkins, Tennessee.-
