William Lawson 
William was born in 1781 in North Carolina. William's father was William Lawson and his mother was Sarah Hinton. His paternal grandparents were Bartholomew Lawson and Susannah Simkins; his maternal grandparents were William Robert Hinton and Mary Patton. He had nine brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, Isham, Elijah, Stephen, Elisha, Preston, George Washington, Hinton, Wiley, Mary Or Polly and Anna. He was the second oldest of the twelve children.-
