Alia Blanch was born in 1900 in Sullivan County, Tennessee. Alia Blanch's father was Amanuel Oralgile Ford and her mother was Eunice Elizabeth McCulley. Her paternal grandparents were John William Ford and Ann E. Childress; her maternal grandparents were Samuel McCulley and Juletta Shipley. She had a brother and three sisters, named John Samuel, Mary Esther, Julia Grace and Bessie Laura. She was the third oldest of the five children.-
