Honor was born about 1725 in , Surry, VA. Honor's father was John Coker and her mother was Priscilla Geddings. Her paternal grandparents were William Coker and Mary Cartwright. She had seven brothers and two sisters, named William, James, John, Joseph, Robert, Caleb, Bryan, Mary and Priscilla. She was the third youngest of the ten children.-
