Clinton Armstrong was born on November 6th, 1811 in , Hawkins, Tennessee. Clinton Armstrong's father was James Charles and his mother was Dorcas Miller. His paternal grandparents were James J. Charles and Tabitha Senter; his maternal grandparents were Peter Miller and Sibyl Pitzer. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Jacob Miller, Wylie B., John Pitzer, Nancy, Elizabeth, Mary and Tabitha L.. He was the third youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 76 on March 20th, 1888 in , Hawkins, Tennessee.-
