Robert Brantley 
Robert was born about 1778 in Halifax, NC. Robert's father was Lewis Brantley and his mother was Martha. His paternal grandparents were Edward Brantley and Martha Pitman. He had two brothers and five sisters, named Henry Lewis, Benjamin Johnson, Charity, Sarah Ann, Mary Pitman, Dolly and Elizabeth. He was the fourth oldest of the eight children.
