Lewis Brantley 
Lewis was born about 1740 in Halifax, NC. Lewis' father was Edward Brantley and his mother was Martha Pitman. His paternal grandparents were James Brantley and Ruth; his maternal grandfather was Pitman. He had five brothers and three sisters, named William, Edward, Robert, Benjamin, James, Mary, Martha Or Patty and Anna. He was the oldest of the nine children. He died in 1799 in Halifax, NC.
