John Blessing 
John was born on December 25th, 1793 in Shenandoah County, Virginia. John's father was Lewis Blessing and his mother was Mary Elizabeth Bartsherrer. His paternal grandparents were Jacob Blessing and Elizabeth Ritschart. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Jacob, Abraham, Mary and Elizabeth. He was the oldest of the five children.-
