Minnie was born on May 13th, 1881 in , Sullivan, Tennessee. Minnie's father was Eldridge Otto Akard and her mother was Susan A. Knight. Her maternal grandparents were Ephraim Goldsmith Knight and Mary Jane Norman. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Joseph William, Frank G. W., Claude Eldridge, Mary Catherine and Sarah M.. She was the second oldest of the six children. She died at the age of 64 on October 30th, 1945 in , , Texas.-
