Four-year-old James, the first-born of Mary Jane Hancock and Richard Roberts is listed with his family in the 1850 census records, but does not appear on subsequent census records. Brother Samuel is later mentioned as being the youngest of four children born to Richard and Mary Jane Hancock Roberts. There is a small headstone next to Mary Jane and Richard's stone at Hancock Chapel Cemetery, Hancock Chapel, Blue River Township, Harrison County, Indiana. The marker is illegible. This could be James'.
