William I the Conqueror and Matilda (Maud) were married in a religious ceremony in 1053 in Castle of Angi, Normandy, France.1   They had two sons and three daughters, named Henry I Beauclerc, William II Rufus Normandy, Adela (Alice), Gundrada and Sibylla.
