Pierre II de Courtenay was born in 1155 in Isle de France, France.1 Pierre II de Courtenay's father was Pierre Capet de Courtenay and his mother was Isabelle (Elizabeth) de Courtenay. His paternal grandparents were Louis VI Capet le Gros King of France and Adelaide (Alix) de Maurienne; his maternal grandparents were Renaud de Courtenay sn de Courtenay and Hawise de Donjon. He had a sister named Alice. He was the older of the two children.1 General Notes

University of Hull gives the death year 1218 as well as his elevation to Emperor of Constantinople. Lori Garner Elmore has him as "Peter of France" & has him dying before 1183.
